We have been providing quality language courses in Southport and Liverpool for twenty five years. Our students are mostly aged from 11 to 17 and mostly come from Spain, France and Italy. However over the years we have had groups from Austria, the Netherlands, Russia and China. We provide a wide variety of courses for all levels of English. All of our courses include 3 hours of English each morning and activities and excursions in the afternoons and there is usually an all day excursion on a Saturday.
We mainly have students in April and July but we also welcome Mini-Trips throughout the year

Do you want to Host?
If you are interested in hosting- here's some brief information....
Hosting can be rewarding, making friendships for life and earning some additional income.
Wendy, The Local Area coordinator will visit your home and approve the facilities you offer. You can then decide on the dates you would like to host students. We offer short stay Mini-trips and longer stay groups in April & July.
MINI-TRIPS –- usually 3- or 4-night stays- These students have their own coach and just have full day excursions 8am- 7pm. You will take and collect your students every day at either Southport Lord Street West or Crosby, whichever is nearest.
If you choose longer stay students in April (7 nights) or July (2- 3 weeks) you will come to meet Wendy and your student with their group and group leaders at the arrival. This will usually be somewhere central for all the families or the main train station. At arrival Wendy will give you your own detailed copy of their Programme, and a travel pass for your student, if they need one to get to college.
You will provide.
-
Breakfast - typically cereal, toast, juice.
-
Lunch - a packed lunch consisting of 2 or 4 slices of bread or a roll for sandwiches
(maybe no butter), crisps (start with plain!) fruit, (usually apple or banana) cake or
biscuits and a drink
-
Evening meal– a hot meal to be taken with the family, or at least sat with a host parent.
The programmes will be on the website nearer the date. After morning lessons afternoon
activities such as mini-golf, swimming, sports, usually finish around 4, (although students only tend to return home around 5.30!), and half-day and full day trips to Chester, Southport and Manchester generally return to the centre at 6pm.
Sundays are usually the day to be spent with the Host Family – even for just a walk in the park
More detailed information is on our Host Page, and the password will be made available to you upon contacting Wendy, the Family Area Coordinator on 07854578502 or email us on our CONTACT page.

Meet The Team
Dave Mitchell

"Karen and I loved hosting students and our children have made lifelong friends with several of them too. Our first student guests were a 12 year old Italian boy and a 22 year old Austrian woman and we have travelled all over Europe to visit the hometowns of many of our students. We started the business as a part-time venture but as it has steadily grown over the years it is now full-time"
Karen Mitchell
"We first hosted foreign students in1984, I became a local coordinator, then in 1999 we decided to open our own school. That first year we only had 22 students, we now welcome thousands each year but we like to think we are still small enough to know lots of the host families and they will often see us at the school, summer discos or seeing off the coaches"

Wendy Grime

Wendy has recently taken over as our family coordinator. She has had a long career in teaching and hosted students for several years. "As a family we have very much enjoyed hosting students, trying to ensure that their stays have been as enjoyable as possible. I am really looking forward to working with SI hosts and welcoming even more students in the future.
